This article has been recently revisited here: Hejin City Fortress Revisited

Two days ago, I stumbled across a mysterious pin on Pinterest, a short video that seemed to show a doorway hanging in midair. Intrigued, I decided to delve into it. Little did I know, this would lead me down a rabbit hole that has consumed my life for the past 48 hours.
Armed with very little information, I began a meticulous search for an elusive ancient fortress. Rumoured to be located somewhere in China, it had been referred to by various names such as ‘Longmen Fortress,’ ‘Wiezhaung Village Castle,’ and even a ‘Nephilim Hideout.’ However, my research revealed that while this fortress is indeed in Hejin City, Shanxi Province, it surprisingly does not have an official name, but for the purpose of this article, we will call it ‘Hejin City Fortress‘. It’s coordinates are 35°34’48″N 110°47’18″E
Hejin City Fortress
It was only when I stumbled upon this article that I was able to shed some light on this mystery. Below I will try and break that article down for you.
Situated atop a lofty loess slope, this mysterious fortress is cleverly concealed by deep gorges, rendering it almost invisible to the untrained eye. Even local residents have scant knowledge of its historical origins. It was only through the guidance of an 80-year-old local named Hou Jun’e that the significance and design of the fortress came to light. His familiarity with the area was key in uncovering the pathways leading to this historic site.
The Hejin City fortress is very hard to see from a distance, blending seamlessly with the surrounding terrain – making it the perfect place to hide. It is only upon closer inspection, led by Hou Jun’e, that one realizes it is, in fact, an ancient bastion, camouflaged by the elements over centuries. The approach to the Hejin City fortress is marked by natural obstacles and a steep trench, which historically could only be crossed with makeshift wooden bridges, indicating the fortress’s strategic use as a protective hideout.
Entering through a diminutive gate, visitors are met with an upward sloping ramp of loose earth, deliberately designed to be slippery and challenging to ascend, a clear defensive measure against intruders. Inside the Hejin City fortress, the land opens up, reminiscent of an ancient ark. The fortress once housed cave dwellings on its flanks, providing shelter for people and livestock during times of danger. These have since eroded, leaving behind only the plateau and its gate.
This structure served as a crucial refuge from threats like bandits and, in later years, Japanese forces. We know now from the local stories that this has been used for over 100 years, but as for how old it is and who built it, were still not sure! What we do know is that the design of the fortress, with its narrow passageways and single gate, was a testament to the resourcefulness of the local population who, without modern weapons, relied on the natural fortification of their environment for protection.

Absolutely incredible article…well done
Very nice….
Thank you for the intensive research. I still have many questions. Does it open to the top? What is the second arch shown, if the first gate is the only one? There are cliff dwellings still around from 1000 years ago so how did these erode so fast in this apparently dry area?
Loess is poorly consolidated and very easily eroded by wind.
The complete fortress is all man made. If you yake a look at the plateau (roof structure) it shows distinct straight lines across. Not natural. That complete mountain ridge is built and not a natural formation. Very intuitive.
Perhaps it was simply divided for agricultural purposes rather than indicating structural support beams? Why build a mountain when you can just carve into one?
Intuitive perhaps but very wrong. If you have Google Earth on your phone/computer go to the co-ordinates given in the article above and see the local landscape – this is a very natural feature in a land where the people are quite used to modifying mountains to suit their needs, mostly farming on leveled terraces or ridgetops. This one is approx 110m x 20m max. There are many much larger ones and this one was primarily used to keep local villagers safe from attack as it was near impossible to access when the 1 x 2 m gate was closed by earth/rocks. The gate leads to a short tunnel leading up to the ‘floor’ at an angle of around 30 degrees the rest of the ridge (can’t be called a mountain as it’s around 1-200 m above the plain level) is completely solid.
Thank you for this information and nice pictures. and video. These rock shelters or caves were a natural hiding spot during very bad weather conditions but also a surviving place during the most dramatic event in the history of mankind. That is the crossing of planet 9 that occurs every few thousand years. That planet 9 is orbiting our sun in an eccentric orbit so it crosses close to our sun at a very high speed. Due to the gravitational force it causes a huge tidal wave, storms, rains, flooding and earthquakes in unprecedented amounts and a bombardment of fiery meteors. Only people who are in a shelter, high above the ground and with a very strong roof, a mountain above your head will do, survive this disaster. In those caves they recorded messages for us. That they were human, many, by printing the hands. A spiral is the first sign of the approaching planet. A square cross is a closer planet and hands up means that they are frightened. That planet is sometimes presented as an agressive animal with big teeth. The event occurs in seven days. Another result of the cycle of disasters is a cycle of civilizations. They emerge and vanish according to a fixed schedule. This is ancient knowledge that is available for everyone who is searching for it but that is forgotten, neglected or denied by all scientists.
If meant to survive a global cataclysm, it would make more sense to accommodate more people rather than the effort spent building such an impressive entrance way, which was not designed by primitive cave dwelling people who would describe a comet as an aggressive animal with big teeth. The Nebiru or planet X theory is a possibility, but may just be a concept made by author Zachariah Sitchin.
Fantastic Revelation! Boggles my mind that discoveries of this size and age are still being found.
The amount of erosion leads me to believe it could be over 3000 years old being used by successive generations.
Truly a wonderful find.
Good observation. The US Gov owns so much of the western United states and its off limits to the public I imagine there is a lot of things yet to be discovered or at least be made known to the general population. That stone work in this article was a marvel unto itself and way beyond goat farmers hiding I am fairly sure it has to be thousands of years old and should be excavated and studied more.
this is in china.. not the US
Love it
Misteriosa fortaleza…
Wowwww amazing….I want to join with u ..now onwards I am a big fan of u…..

A hide-out would be less conspicuous and a whole lot easier to build without the huge doorway, would it not? It must have served some other purpose that made use of the opening in the top and the rectangular sections on the plateau. My guess is that rain water slowly eroded the opening and the passage under the doorway where a wooden access bridge once stood. If meant to survive a global cataclysm as suggested above, it would be constructed to accommodate a larger capacity rather than building an impressive entrance. I have no idea what it was for, but it might make a nice secluded spot for a giant to live.
Just sn amazing gift you have with your very well researched love for the ancient, and their mysteries. Would love to learn more…..keep up the good work. Uncovering our ancient secrets will Illuminate our future….
Who to you it has told?
